Gold Incentive Award

Amelia & Blaze were awarded the Gold Incentive Award from Dressage NZ in Nov 2015! To receive this award, you must ride the Prix St George test (or equivalent) & receive a mark of 63% or more with a list 1 or 2 judge. This is a great achievement as Amelia has trained Blaze to this level herself. He is a truly special horse!

Marlborough Dressage Championships ~ 24th-25th October 2015
We had a fantastic time at the Marlborough Champs - it was the first time we had travelled up & the venue was great. Blaze coped very well with the journey & won his first test, 7A. He had a couple of green mistakes in his next tests, however he finished as the top level 7 horse of the weekend & went Res. Champion Level 6/7. Vienna performed 3 very tidy, consistent tests & we are thrilled with her progress.

South Island Festival of Dressage ~ 29th-31st January 2015
We had a great time at the South Island Festival of Dressage, held at McLeans Island. Blaze, in only his second outing at Level 6, did a beautiful test on the first day to win test 6A. It was a large field with experienced combinations from around the country so we were absolutely thrilled with him. Unfortunately he had a mistake in his tempi changes in the musical freestyle, however we were so pleased for him to get Reserve Champion Level 6 at this big event. We are so excited for his huge future.
Amelia also rode Harry (First Sovereign Heritage) - it was his very first outing at Level 6, & also his first competition for 2 years. He was an absolute gentleman & tried very hard. He finished 6th overall which was fantastic.

Charlotte Dujardin Masterclass ~ Christchurch 17th Jan 2015
We were very privileged to have Charlotte Dujardin visit Christchurch in January & deliver a masterclass at the RDA arena. "Star" ended up being a last minute addition as the 'young horse' due to Nicola Maley's own horse getting very sick just days before the event. With only a few rides together that week, Nicola & Star did a fantastic job & he coped incredibly well with the crowd. Blaze was the advanced horse with Amelia riding, & Charlotte gave them some fantastic exercises to work on. Overall the masterclass was very well done & informative for all levels of horse & rider.

Canterbury Dressage Championships ~ 5th-7th December 2014
Blaze had his first start in a year as well as his first Level 6 start at the Canterbury Champs. There were some green mistakes but he tried so hard & came away with 2nd in the PSG Challenge & 3rd in the Level 6/7 Freestyle (highest placed Level 6 combination). We were absolutely thrilled with him & we're now working at establishing his work in the ring.
